Cat with Coffee: PBRT Image

This scene captures a home scene of a cat knocking over a cup of coffee. The goal was to depict a realistic scene with the use of Blender and the Physically Based Rendering Toolkit (PBRT), namely with d'Eon's implemented hair model to produce realistic fur.

  • In Blender
    • modified models from TurboSquid & Free3D
    • texturized objects and implemented normal mapping
    • leveraged the fluid simulation for the coffee
    • implemented a particle system for the fur
  • With C++
    • integrated all models and materials to PBRT code framework
    • used an environment map & scaling for the window background
    • leveraged d'Eon's hair scattering model for the cat's fur
